The growing development in information and communication technologies such as Internet banking, e-commerce and online shopping have had a significant impact on society and have transformed the way modern business is conducted. The effect is an increasing real demand for computer scientists, software engineers and programmers who have a thorough and clear understanding of the underlying principles of managing business and people.
The programs in Computer Science prepare students for both the technical side of computing and for careers in management related to Information Technology. The programs offer students a detailed understanding of the underlying principles of both computer science and information technology and expose them to how these principles work in the real business world. The question that accompanies the students is how to give solutions to the social problems in their society. Training in the Computer Science department is competence-based like all other programs in RUC. Therefore, attention is paid to both academic and professional excellence. The programmes offered currently are:
- B.Sc. Computer Science (a four-year programme) and
- Diploma in Computer Science (a two-year programme)
