Mrs. Nyankum Hannah Jemimah

Assistant lecturer

PROFILE

Academic/ Professional Qualification:

Mrs. Hannah Jemimah Nyankum holds Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Cape Coast Technical University in the year 2010, Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast in 2014, Masters in Management Science and Engineering, majoring in Corporate Finance from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2018, and recently chartered from the Institute of Chartered Accountant, Ghana ICA-GH.

Having the zeal for academic excellence and knowledge impartation, saw her join the Business Studies Department of ReCAS in the year 2021. Before then, she worked as a Loan Officer at Asa Saving and Loans Co. Ltd, and an Assistant Accountant at Forest Services Division in the Eastern Region. Mrs. Nyankum lectures in Taxation, Corporate Reporting, Public sector Accounting, and Corporate Governance.

Teaching Philosophy:

There is nothing like right or wrong at the tertiary level of education. It’s about how you argue out your point to make sense to others. Mrs. Nyankum believes lecture halls should be a place of exchange of ideas and building knowledge. with this foresight, she thus, creates the atmosphere for student to brainstorm to come out with thought provoking and challenging ideas, in this way, we learn from each other, and the globe at large through research. As said by Henry Ford, “Anyone who stops learning is old whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays strong. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind strong”.

Research Interest:

Her area of teaching and research include Taxation, Public Sector Accounting and Finance, Corporate Reporting, Corporate Governance, Business Policy and Strategy, Strategy, Governance, and Risk Management, and Corporate Finance

Community Service: Guest for marital programs on RECAS FM, and offering guidance to student on their stay on campus.

Emmanuel Kwakye Amoah

Academic/Professional Qualification:

Master of Commerce, Finance, University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Central Region.

Degree in BA. Integrated Business Studies (Accounting option), University for Development Studies, Wa, Upper West Region.

Teaching Philosophy

His philosophy of teaching is that all students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. It is his desire to create this type of atmosphere where students meet their full potentials. He provides a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.

Teaching is a process of learning from your students, colleagues, parents, and the community. This is a lifelong process where you learn new strategies, new ideas, and new philosophies. Over time, his educational philosophy may change, and that is okay. That just means that he has grown and learned new things.

Research Interest:

General Business, Finance, Energy Finance, Accounting and Finance and Oil and Gas Management.

Community Service:

He facilitates Entrepreneurship Forum for students and the general public, Sunday School Teacher at Church, and a Radio Host at ReCAS FM (92.1 mhz).

Jonathan Teye

Assistant lecturer

PROFILE

Academic/Professional Qualification:

PhD Candidate in Mining Management Engineering, Masters of Management Science in Accounting, Bachelor’s Degree of Technology in Accounting and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy.

Teaching Philiosophy:

Mr. Jonathan Teye who is passionate about accounting is currently pursuing a PhD in Mining Management Engineering at Anhui University of Science and Technology (AUST) China. Mr. Teye has many working experiences both in industry and academia. He was a Junior Accountant at Cocoa Processing Company, Tema. He was a Tutor at Peace Hill Secondary School. He has been a Teaching Assistant for over five years at Koforidua Technical University (Faculty of Business and Management Studies). On part-time basis, he has been a lecturer at the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioner (IHRMP), Koforidua Campus.

His love and passion of teaching occurs no matter the culture with which he is engaged in. He has experienced the same sense of fulfillment teaching internationally at the Senior High School level in China.

 

He currently teaches courses such as Business Administration, Business Management, Computerized Accounting, Financial Accounting, Business Finance, Financial Management, Total Quality Management, Taxation, Public Sector Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Accounting Research Methods, Corporate Governance, Cost Accounting, and Auditing theory and Practice. His research areas include; oil and gas finance and accounting, valuation of mineral resources, merger and acquisition of companies, and internal auditing.

 

His focus is to present challenging, interesting, thought provoking, current, and relevant material. He makes sure to foster a positive learning environment that is stimulating, motivating, participative, and supportive. Imparting independence, critical thinking, and communication are central in the course he teaches. He encourages students to explore new ideas and develop confidence in expressing their thoughts. He makes every effort to learn from the insights, backgrounds and experiences of all his students. This has made his approach to teaching ‘student centered’.

His goal is to teach students love the process of learning so they never stop learning even after leaving his lecture sessions.

 

Research Interest:

Oil and gas finance and accounting, valuation of mineral resources, merger and acquisition of companies, and internal auditing.

Yusuf Agana Hamidu

Assistant lecturer

PROFILE

Academic/ Professional Qualification:

Mr. Yusuf Agana Hamidu is an enthusiastic marketing lecturer and brings his classroom sessions to life through practical demonstrations. Prior to joining ReCAS, Mr. Hamidu had worked with an investment firm as an area manager for the then Brong Ahafo Region now divided into three regions for 3 years. He has also worked as a teaching/research assistant at the University of Ghana Business School in the Department Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Besides teaching various marketing related courses, Yusuf also doubles as the Assistant Registrar in charge of Industrial Relations. He has also been involved in facilitating training programmes for artisans and service men and women organized by the Business and Career Development Centre (BCDC).

Teaching Philosophy: Yusuf’s teaching philosophy is to be pragmatic by making students have a feel of theory and practice as much as possible.

Research Interest: Branding, Digital marketing and Consumer behavior

Community Service: Yusuf Agana actively took part in the entrepreneurship forum for students of ReCAS.
